America the Beautiful Quarters® Day in the Classroom
Olympic National Park
In 2010, the United States Mint began to issue 56 quarter-dollar coins featuring designs depicting national parks and other national sites as part of the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The Olympic National Park quarter was the third of 2011 and the eighth overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

In 2007, the United States Mint released the Washington quarter as part of the 50 State Quarters® Program. Washington's quarter pictures a salmon next to Mt. Rainier, a volcano. The quarter also bears the state's nickname, "Evergreen State," which can be found in Olympic National Park.
