Chaco Culture

Detectives of the Past

Grades 9-12
Social Studies (Archeology), Language Arts


Starting with the Chaco Culture National Historical Park quarter, the students will research Chaco Culture Historical Park, focusing on the importance of the artifacts found there.  The students will watch a video and demonstrate the basic skills used in analyzing artifacts.  The students will demonstrate deductive skills through inferencing and analyzing a culture based on its artifacts.  The students will prepare a written presentation based on their findings.
